The objective:

The main objective in APOLLON is to develop High Concentration Point Focus and Dense Array Concentrator Photovoltaic (CPV) systems based on monolithic and discrete multijunction technology with a final target cost of 2 €/Wp. This ambitious objective will be reached at the end of the Project, after five years of research and technological activities concerning the different components of the CPV systems. In order to answer the industrial need to speed up the pre-qualification phase of the CPV systems, without risking to hinder the path toward more attractive solutions, which require longer development periods, the APOLLON Project foresees two development phases. In the first phase, an optimisation of the existing CPV technologies, from the cell up to the system level, is planned. In the second phase, research towards more advanced solutions is envisaged.
