CENTRO RICERCHE PLAST-OPTICA

CRP (Centro Ricerche Plast-Optica) was established in June 2002, thanks to the joint efforts of CRF (Fiat Research Centre), ALRLI (Automotive Lighting Rear Lamps Italia) and Agemont (Agency for the development of mountain area of Friuli Venezia Giulia) with the aim to promote research activity and increase knowledge in the field of:

• optics, lighting and communication devices,
• moulding of plastic materials and related technologies,
• micro and nano technologies.

The Mission of the society is to provide innovation, services and consulting to SMEs in order to promote their competitiveness and transfer to them developed innovation. Through the development of a European excellence net with scientific and academic world and other experienced operator, CRP has the objective to be a reference research centre in the field of treated themes.
CRP has the mission to promote, develop and transfer R&D outputs to

• FIAT automotive companies,
• SMEs in the field of industrial/in house lighting, optical communication or plastic products.

The industrial research activity of CRP is aimed at providing the customer with 3 types of results: innovative products, innovative manufacturing processes and new methodologies. CRP organization permits the transfer of developed innovative solutions at short and mid term to our customers, guarantying competitiveness in market.

Principal activities related to APOLLON project:

• Chip on Board technology for assembling of semiconductor devices on different kind of substrate;
• Plastic materials laboratory: advanced technologies of injection moulding, physical-chemical and optical characterization of plastic materials;
• Optical simulation, fluidodinamic and numerical simulation of moulding process
