Solar*Tec AG is a photovoltaics industry company which develops and markets highly efficient solar energy systems.The Solar*Tec Group is active in all three generations of Photovoltaics:crystalline silicon, thin film technology and concentrator PV (CPV).
One of the core-competences is the Sol*Con™-concentrator technology, which provides efficiency rates over 35 percent and generates solar energy up to 50 percent cheaper than conventional solar modules. The services of the Solar*Tec Group include important steps of the value-creation-chain,amongst others wafer manufacturing for concentrator cells, TCO-Glass (under construction), production of crystalline modules as well as turnkey construction of solar parcs.

The company’s headquarters are located in Munich. In Aschheim near Munich Solar*Tech develops and produces conventional silicon solar modules as well as modules based on Solar*Tec’s new Sol*Con™ concentrator technology.The silicon modules are made from highly efficient monocrystalline cells with excellent low light performance. In the first stage of expansion this production line is designed for an annual output capacity of 10 Megawatts peak (MWp).The first prototype Sol*Con™ - modules were pre-sented in 2006. According to customer requirements, Solar*Tec develops solar power projects utilizing traditional silicon technology as well as concentrator technology.In January 2007 the company founded Soluciones Solar*Tecs S.A.in Denia (Spain) to consolidate existing activities.To support the Asian-Pacific markets Solar*Tec founded a Holding in Singapore.
Solar*Tec has established an exclusive development cooperation with the Ioffe-Institute in St. Peters-burg (development of concentrator technology).A scientific advisory council (most prominent member: Prof. Dr. Z. I. Alferov, Nobel laureate in physics, 2000) guarantees that the current leadership in technolo-gy in being kept in the future.
